  • WHERE IS YKMEXICO LOCATED?
    The first stage of summer "At Home" begins in Guadalajara which is the capital of the state of Jalisco, which is located in the center of Western Mexico, 350 miles west of Mexico City and 200 miles east from Puerto Vallarta along the Pacific Ocean. Within the first few weeks we travel from Guadalajara to different communities within driving distance. The second stage "On The Road" is spent in Cozumel an island and municipality in the Caribbean Sea off the eastern coast of Mexico's Yucatán Peninsula.
  • WHAT TYPE OF BOCHURIM IS YESHIVAS KAYITZ FOR?
    Bochurim in Mesivta typically ages 15-17 who want to have a fun and meaningful uplifting summer, and who want to explore their inner power as Chayolei Beis Dovid, who are open to embark on a journey of the self, owning their Yiddishkeit making it personal and spreading the wellsprings to their surroundings.
  • WHAT ARE THE DATES OF THE PROGRAM?

  • WHERE DO I FIND OUT IF I AM ACCEPTED TO YKMEXICO?
    We will contact you as soon as the acceptance decision is made.
  • IS THERE A GROUP FLIGHT?
    YES , AND YOU MUST BE ON IT. UNLESS YOU ARE COMING LATER FOR REASONS NOT UNDER YOUR CONTROL AND YOU HAVE ALREADY DISCUSSED IT WITH THE DIRECTOR PRIOR TO BOOKING THE FLIGHT.
  • DOES MY SON NEED TRAVELERS INSURANCE? IF YES, WHERE DO I GET IT ?"
    Yes, we wil include our recommendation on the email we will send with more details. feel free to do your own research as well.
  • IS GUADALAJARA SAFE?
    Guadalajara is one of the biggest cities in Mexico, many people come for business and tourism, the Shliach helping us with our Yeshivas Kayitz lives there for many years and knows all the rules and precautions to take. As long as your son is following the safety rules everything will go smooth b"h.
  • TRANSPORTATION?
    All of our transportation is done with air conditioned Coach Buses, reputable companies and professional drivers.
  • WHAT'S THE WEATHER LIKE?
    In Guadalajara, the wet season is overcast, the dry season is partly cloudy, and it is warm year round. Over the course of the year, the temperature typically varies from 41°F to 89°F and is rarely below 33°F or above 93°F. you will need a hooded sweater for some trips we will be doing.
  • LAUNDRY?
    There are Laundry services who pick up wash and fold for a great price. Alternatively there are laundry mats in close proximity.
  • WHAT HAPPENS IF I GET SICK?
    You will be treated by a great family doctor whom we have known a long time who is fair on his prices, if further care is needed he will be taken to a different doctors office or hospital. We will try to do our best to take you to doctors that the travelers insurance covers, otherwise parents are responsible for all other charges.
  • HOW WOULD I BE ABLE TO REACH THE YKMEXICO STAFF?
    Through: -Our website. -The directors number which you will receive in the registration emails. -You will get a list of staff numbers who will be available.
  • WHAT IS THE VOLTAGE?  DO WE NEED AN ADAPTER?
    Voltage is the same, you do not need an adapter.
  • IF I HAVE A FOOD OR ACTIVITY RESTRICTION, CAN YKMEXICO ACCOMMODATE ME
    Please specify it on the google forms in our website when you register and we will try as much as we can to accommodate him.
  • MY SON HAS A BIRTHDAY DURING YESHIVAS KAYITZ, CAN I DO SOMETHING SPECIAL FOR HIM?"
    Yes! Please be in touch with us at least a week before his birthdate if you would like us to arrange a farbrengen and something special.
  • WHAT DOES THE PROGRAM COST?
    $4,250. plus Airfare.
  • ARE THERE ANY SCHOLARSHIPS?
    Limited scholarships are available based on need and a first come first serve basis, please inquire with us when you register. Your local or regional Jewish Federation very often has a scholarship grant for students traveling to experience Israel. you must first apply with them, who will, in turn, ask us for information which we will provide. As soon as we receive the funds we will either deduct it or send you a refund if it was received following completion of payments. Below is a partial list of organizations that offer camp scholarships. Please note, each organization has its own criteria and may not assist those that do not meet their guidelines. Additionally, many communities have their own camp fund, please inquire with your local institutions.   • INTERNET ELECTRONICS AND PHONE POLICY
    There's no internet access allowed in Yeshivas Kayitz. Cell phones and electronics must be given in upon arrival and will be returned upon departure. Once a week before Shabbos Bochurim can borrow staff phones for calling home.
  • DRESS CODE
    White button down shirts and dark pants during Seider. Hats and jackets by davenings. Mentshlich clothing the rest of the time. (shorts only during sports and water activities etc.)
